From Interstate 74, LINCOLN AVE (Urbana) exit:
Go south on Lincoln Ave (towards Urbana) off of the exit ramp.
If you are staying at the Illini Union and want to go there first, then
Else, if you are going directly to the Graduate School of LIS, then
- Stay on Lincoln Ave. until Green St. (Green St. has a stoplight)
- Turn right (west) on to Green Street.
- The Union is on the left side (south) on Green St. (1401 W. Green St., Urbana)
There is major construction on Green Street immediately after the Union and before you get close to the Graduate School of Library and Information Science.- We recommend that if you can, leave your car at the Union and walk (map) to the Graduate School of LIS. (The Union is building I3 in C4 and GSLIS is building L6 in C3 on the map - a nice stroll of about 5 blocks which takes about 10 minutes). If you walk through the Quad, it can be very nice.

- Turn right (west) onto University Ave. (Lincoln and University has a stoplight)
- Continue on University several blocks until you get to 1st Street (to avoid construction area on Green)
- Turn left (south) on 1st. (1st has a stoplight)
- Daniel is the 2nd street after Green Street. (There is no traffic control device at this intersection).
- Turn left (east) onto Daniel.
- 501 E. Daniel is the building on the right immediately after 5th Street (5th has a stop sign) on Daniel.
- Enter the building from the east side. Room 126 is on your right. (Welcome!)

Parking Information
(not much parking is available)
- Parking around the Graduate School of LIS Building (building 331)

The phone number for campus parking is (217)333-3530.There are 10-hour meters on top of John & Sixth parking garage (enter off of John St.) and in the Library lot. They have to pay the meter.
Campus Parking may give passes to park in the Assembly Hall lot and they take the shuttle to central campus.
- Normally the meters on Daniels are restricted to 2 hour parking between the hours of 7AM to 9PM
- $.75 per hour.
- $10.00 tickets.
- After 5pm, the parking garage across the street is free.
- Illini Union parking (building 23)
Official word for the Illini Union hotel guests :"Our hotel guests receive parking permits when they check-in. The lot is D-10 and is on the east side of the Illini Union, between the Union and the Natural History Building.
"Because of the construction on Green Street, we recommend that everyone approach the Union from the east."
