Hello,
I´m working on "transient detection paper" during literature research I found one or maybe two papers about onset detection from MIREX 2005-2007.
Most of the papers which I found don´t describe used data just results, so.
I would like to ask if you have any files with already described (identified) transient signals which will be possible to use for testing (comparison or evaluation) in case of "transient signal detection" I will be very glad.

GL with future research.

Best regards. M. Prochazka
Gzhu1https://www.music-ir.org/mirex/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Michal_Prochazka&diff=8592User talk:Michal Prochazka2011-11-30T18:30:44Z
Gzhu1: Welcome!

This year we ran many MIREX 2011 Tasks using the new NEMA MIREX DIY infrastructure. Task results with "(DIY)" appended are those generated using the NEMA MIREX DIY system. Where appropriate, do explore the various new outputs that help visualize both individual and task-wide comparative performances. A demonstration video of the NEMA MIREX DIY system can be found is also available.

Introduction
These are the results for the 2011 running of the Query-by-tappingn task. For background information about this task set please refer to the 2011:Query_by_Tapping page.

Task Descriptions
Task 1 Goto Task 1 Results: The first subtask is the same as last year. In this subtask, submitted systems take a symbolic sung query as input and return a list of songs from the test database. Mean reciprocal rank (MRR) of the ground truth, as well as the simple hit(1)/miss(0) counting, is calculated over the top 10 returns. Two data sets are used:

* Jang's Dataset Roger Jang's MIR-QBT: This dataset contains both wav files (recorded via microphone) and onset files (human-labeled onset time). 136 ground truth songs with 890 queries.
* Hsiao's Dataset Show Hsiao's QBT_symbolic: This dataset contains only onset files (obtained from the user's tapping on keyboard). 143 ground truth songs with 410 queries.

Task 2 Goto Task 2 Results:The second subtask is the same as last year too. In this subtask, submitted systems take a wave-file sung query as input and return a list of songs from the test database. Mean reciprocal rank (MRR) of the ground truth, as well as the simple hit(1)/miss(0) counting, is calculated over the top 10 returns. Only Roger Jang's data http://neural.cs.nthu.edu.tw/jang2/dataSet/qbt4public/MIR-QBT.rar MIR-QBT] is used as the other dataset has no wave files.

In the pass years I did a MSc in Music Technology at York and I have just graduated from MPhil in Human Language Technologies at the University of Trento. As of 01-Oct-2011 I started working with Anja Volk at the University of Utrecht in the Music Similarity through Variation (MUSIVA) project, which will be focusing on creating cognitively plausible models for segmentation and similarity measures for music in symbolic domain. I'm hence very interested in the MIR area.
Gzhu1https://www.music-ir.org/mirex/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Marcelo_Rodriguez-Lopez&diff=8366User talk:Marcelo Rodriguez-Lopez2011-10-10T14:30:32Z
Gzhu1: Welcome!

I am currently an undergraduate at Stanford University and taking a machine learning class (CS 229 taught by Andrew Ng). I hope to do my final project on audio analysis, particularly global song structure and/or beat detection. I spent last year reading many of the past MIREX papers in these areas and would like to become involved with the MIREX community with the hope of a submission next year.
Gzhu1https://www.music-ir.org/mirex/w/index.php?title=User_talk:George_Hokkanen&diff=8356User talk:George Hokkanen2011-10-03T22:48:46Z
Gzhu1: Welcome!

PhD student at Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands (temporarily on a US adventure, interning at Google in Mountain View). Has been trained both as a computer scientist and a performing pianist; PhD project deals with indexing music audio over the time dimension. While being in a largely signal-oriented group, I'd especially like to figure out more about the non-trivial, subjective aspects of music content - those things that we hardly can identify, define and objectify into undisputed ground truth, but that we somehow understand implicitly and that make the music such a great experience to us.
Gzhu1
